This article is the third of a three-part series about the recipients of a United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA)- sponsored competition.
The SVS Prapela baby box by Prapela was the winner of $25,000 awarded at the Fifth Annual Pediatric Device Innovation Symposium held by Children's National Heath System - ranked as the #1 Neonatology program by US News and World Report.
Out of 98 applications, 12 finalists were chosen and half took home a prize.
The SVS baby box is designed with a gentle, stochastic vibro-tactile stimulation (SVS) that helps infants (including those who have been exposed to drugs), to relax, breathe, and sleep.
All parents have to do is lay down their infant on the vibrating mattress.
